New York vibes

If there is one City in the world we look to for inspiration it's New York. Especially their vibrant coffee shop scene which always seems so appealing.  So when we arrived at Club Street Social it was easy to fall in love with the decor. Decked out in monochromatic shades with the coolest of tiles, it was clear that coming here was a good idea. We ordered a Cappuccino and scrambled eggs with rye bread for brunch. The service was super fast and it turned out to be one of the best coffees we enjoyed during our trip.

Wandering around Singapore
There are so many places that you pass in Singapore which just seem like the perfect backdrop for  photos. Indeed many of the buildings still have that wonderful colonial feel with the most adorable  shutters. It was lovely to take a stroll around after brunch, taking in this City and capturing memories with our friends!

Before heading to Singapore, we already had a list of 'must see' places. It's fair to say that many of the new and interesting places we had heard about were actually through Instagram. Paddy Hills was no exception to that. After seeing so many photos of the somewhat famous Berry Ricotta Hotcakes, we knew we had to go!
The place was already quite busy when we arrived and it was easy to see why. Even though the cafe is quite small, it has a really nice feel to it. They also have a good stock of Cereal Magazine and Kinfolk. It's the kind of place you won't feel like leaving in a hurry. The food took a while to arrive and the portions are quite big so its advisable to share. When you order something which is so beautifully presented your expectations can be quite high. Happily, the hotcakes didn't disappoint  and the cappuccino was pretty good too.

It turned out that the hotcakes were not the only thing people flock to this cafe for. The wall outside is just too cool! I think if we lived in Singapore we would go there just to get ootd shots! We had so much fun here and wished we could have stayed longer...

At Boufe Cafe
Going to Singapore is one of the highlights of the month but this time it was made even more special by the fact we could both make the trip together. If you haven't been to Singapore,  we hope that the cafes shown in our photos might give you some inspiration of where to go. These days there seems to be a new place opening up almost every month, so there is always somewhere to  try. The standard of cafes on the island is generally high and it's certainly a great place to be if you enjoy brunch. This time we visited some old favorites and tried out some new places which didn't fail to impress us. We hope you enjoy the visual journey of the few days spent in Singapore.

Featured Boufe's Triple B
I have been to Boufe Cafe on Taglin Road once before and really wanted to take Lucky as I had a feeling he would love it just as much as I do. As well as having a wonderfully chic decor, you can also get a pretty decent brunch there. If you order only one thing, do try the Strawberry Shortcake which is absolutely divine.

Travelling itself is always fun but meeting new friends along the way makes it even more special. Instagram has connected us to so many people and this trip we met with 2 talented Instagrammers from the Island. We shared stories of our passion for photography, food and social media. Luckily Singapore is a very short flight from Jakarta so we will definitely keep in touch with our new friends and meet again for more cafe hopping fun!

In the comfort of one of the Suite rooms at Shangri-la
This weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to the Shangri-la hotel for a staycation. It was especially exciting because the hotel is definitely one of our favorites in the City. It was truly wonderful to spend some time relaxing before our upcoming trip to Singapore.

Dim Sum lunch at Shang Palace
We are both big fans of dim sum and the lunch we experienced at Shang palace did not disappoint. As well as being visually appealing it was truly mouthwatering. This is surely one of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Dinner was all about experiencing some delectable Japanese cuisine. When it comes to sushi and sashimi we can simply never get enough! Especially enjoyable was their super fresh sashimi which literally melted in the mouth.

Waking up on Sunday morning was an absolute delight. After spending some time on the balcony, we ordered an American breakfast from room service and spent some time lounging around. Pastries are always top of our breakfast list! and coffee of course. It was hard for us to leave the comfort of our rooms but a fabulous lunch awaited!

Lunch at Rosso, Shangri-la
We fell in love with the chic decor in the hotels exquisite Italian restaurant Rosso. After catching up over a delicious selection of fresh seafood, pasta and salad it was finally time to go home. We would like to express our gratitude to the Shangri-la hotel Jakarta for the wonderful hospitality during our stay. Stay tuned for the next post in the beautiful island of Singapore!

The perfect Sunday

It's all about Cheescake!
When we heard that a new Cheesecake cafe had opened up in one of our favorite parts of the City, we simply couldn't wait to check it out. So we met up with a few friends & headed South. We've been kind of busy recently so it was great to have the chance to catch up over some cake.

Sunday catch ups over Kyoto Cheesecake
It was hard not to love the ambience at this place, which felt much more European than a City in South East Asia. The cake hails from Hong Kong, and is very subtle on the palate. We are all Cheesecake lovers and have to admit it is a welcome addition to the cafe scene.

A day never seems complete without a cortado, so we headed to one of our favorite cafes in the same area for a caffeine fix!

Whiteout

We hid away from the heat of the day inside the cool of the hotel. Temperatures sore as high as 33 degrees on a daily basis here, so its essential to invest in t-shirts that I can rely on. The one I'm wearing here is by Alexander Wang.
Picture
One fine day in Menteng
There is a certain type of building that I'm always drawn towards for its sheer beauty and elegance. The Hermitage Hotel in Menteng definitely falls into that category. One beautiful Sunday afternoon we met up with another friend from Instagram who captured this shot right in front of the hotel. The building has somewhat of a colonial feel, so I wanted to wear something laid-back but also chic. This season I'm really loving my Zara culottes which work so well with a slightly structured blazer.

This Sunday was like any other when it came to ordering a cappuccino. They certainly got the latte art right here. Wandering around the hotel we discovered many new places which I had not seen on previous visits like these stairs which lead up to the rooftop.

With perfect views across the City and a breeze on the rooftop, I found sometime to catch up with Instagram. I have been wearing my Roc Eyewear shades a lot recently, I like that they make the outfit look slightly more edgy.

It was all cool vibes at this hotel, its definitely one of the more photogenic places in the City.

I caught up with Lucky on the rooftop who was wearing a monochrome top from Zara which  works really well when paired with a white shirt underneath.

A big thanks to @jansensen for capturing this
We both wore monochrome on that day which tend to be safe choices for us. Lucky was captured by our new Instagram friend before we left. We had fun that day checking out the hotels coolest spots. I'm even thinking of planning a short stay cation here.

This weekend was full of laughs and coffee just the way I like it. I met up with some friends on Saturday and went to a coffee shop that was trending last year. I still like to go there as I think the lighting is pretty unique. It was such a lovely day and I decided to wear my fail proof black Mango dress. I paired this with a fedora as I think it adds a touch of chic to the outfit. I bought this particular one during a recent trip to Singapore from Topshop. As far as fedoras go I can recommend checking out Topshop as they are reasonably priced for the quality.
Picture
The suns rays came flowing through the windows and we were lucky enough to capture this image whilst we were there. I truly believe that coffee is not only a great pick me up but also brings people together. I would never have believed it before, but I have met most of my good friends over our passion for coffee and capturing it.

When it comes to photography, Instagram and blog related projects, I collaborate with my talented friend Lucky Oetama. He's the who is behind all the beautiful photo styling you see on my IG and recent photos on this blog. Of course we both love aesthetically pleasing images for IG, but beyond that we both are passionate about style. He is pictured here wearing a flannel shirt by Denim Reality.

Weekend hangs with the gang
We never really stay at one place for long, so we crossed the road to enjoy some yummy tacos at this cool place. I have to admit I have never been there before but I really liked the vibe on that day.

Sunday is officially my favorite day of the week. I love the no traffic situation and being able to access places we don't usually dare to go during the week. It was insanely hot outside but I still wanted to wear this long black cardigan which I bought from Topshop. I'm pretty addicted to shades and usually carry a few pairs with me. I love these Ray Bans. I always seem to find something to buy at their stores.
Picture
Wearing Daniel Wellington Watch, Juicy Couture Bracelet
We enjoyed a rather late lunch at this cafe. Although the latte art was not really happening, the coffee actually tasted pretty good. My Sunday essentials were shades and my Aesop hand creme which does wonders for the hands in this climate. I'm definitely someone who likes to get frequent manicures. Often people ask me about my nail polish, this one is Chanel Eastern Light. As I adore all things monochrome, this one has become one of my go-to shades this season.

This was one of my favorite spots to take photos at the cafe. I always love these kind of white  back drops which give a great contrast to wearing darker colors.

Our weekend was ever busy but totally fabulous! Hope you all had a great weekend too.

Timekeeping in the City

I live in a City where most people are late for everything. That also includes me, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to accessorize with a beautiful timepiece. So I was overjoyed when one of my favorite watch brands from Sweden Daniel Wellington sent me a watch from their Classic collection.

Picture
Wearing Daniel Wellington Classic Lady Sheffield in black watch
My friends and I are often spotted in cafes throughout the City taking photos, it was on one of those occasions that we snapped some photos of our time.

Right now I’m definitely going through a monochrome phase and I think that this watch complemented my outfit perfectly.

Watch by Daniel Wellington, Bag Celine Trio, Sunglasses by Ray Ban, Lip Balm Smiths Minted Rose
On a recent trip to Singapore I purchased some amazing lip balm by Smiths. I just love the scent of Minted Rose, I'm already totally addicted to it! Unfortunately it's not available in Indonesia but I think most countries stock it.
Picture
In the end its all about enjoying your day with the people you are closest to. Brunch was absolutely perfect at this spot. I wish you all a great weekend whatever you have planned!

I would like to say a big thanks to Daniel Wellington for the lovely timepiece.

What could be better than going around the City you live in checking out the new coffee shops and restaurants? Shopping is probably the other thing I enjoy equally as much as my pastimes of photography and traveling. A few weeks ago I was sent these fabulous  sunnies from Roc Eyewear which I have totally fallen in love with.

The new coffee shop we visited was just perfect, it was everything I could have asked for in terms of decor. I am a huge fan of monochrome and can't seem to shop buying clothes in those shades. Today was just perfect for kicking back, enjoying the day and taking  photos for Instagram.

Brunching at Crematology
It was already afternoon but seeing as I was yet to eat I considered this my late brunch. I really enjoyed the coffee here. Having a daily cortado is an absolute must!

We ventured into the South of the City last weekend to try out yet another coffee shop. I have to say I loved this place.

Lunch at Miyagi Fine Japanese
I remember this day being kinda hot so we hid away in the cool of the mall for some delicious Japanese cuisine. I am lucky that in this City we have so many options for Japanese as its definitely one of my favorites. I decided to wear my new dress recently purchased from Zara. With such a bold print I paired it with black stockings and my new Roc Eyewear shades.

I would like to say a big thank you to Roc Eyewear for the sunglasses :-)
